I’ll code till 5 (I will survive parody)

At first my code wasn't saved, I was petrified
Kept thinking I'd have to recode that all on the side
But then I spent so many nights thinking why the code was wrong
...and I grew strong, then cast my int into a long
And then the bug comes back, from outer space
I just walked in to the office to see that sad look on my teams face
I should have changed that stupid line, I coulda made it out in time
If I knew that this bug would put my job up on the line....
So I'll just go, and walk out the door
If I turn around now, they'll surely make me code some more.
Weren't they the ones that tried to hurt me with their lies?
They think I mumble? Well I think they should fuck off and die.
So now I... I'll code till 5.
As long as I get my work done I think it's chill to hide
This app has lots of life to live, I have lines of code to give..
I'll code till 5...code till 5....hey hey.....

Why the f*** is it illegal to buy eye glasses without a prescription… are teenagers abusing spectacles? Can you get high off that shit? Nope, otherwise people would be selling bifocals on the goddamn street corner.

I don’t have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It’s a depression. Everybody’s out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel’s worth, banks are going bust, shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street and there’s nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there’s no end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TV’s while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that’s the way it’s supposed to be. We know things are bad - worse than bad. They’re crazy. It’s like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don’t go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, ‘Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won’t say anything. Just leave us alone.’ Well, I’m not gonna leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don’t want you to protest. I don’t want you to riot - I don’t want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn’t know what to tell you to write. I don’t know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first you’ve got to get mad.

It’s not that it was needed to “fill a gap” in any language. Before 1839, English speakers had “yes”, “good”, “fine”, “excellent”, “satisfactory”, and “all right”.

What OK provided that the others did not was neutrality, a way to affirm or to express agreement without having to offer an opinion.

Consider this dialogue: “Let’s meet again this afternoon.” Reply: “OK.”

Compare that with: “Let’s meet again this afternoon.” Reply: “Wonderful!” or “If we must.”
